Well I must say I had a good time at Centreville Baptist Church Sunday night at Merge. A good friend from church went with me (Thanks Jason!) and kept me awake on the long drive home that night. They were a bunch of good kids and we felt God move there.
I spoke on Acts 17:13-27. Its some scripture that god is just really dealing with me about right now and just when I think I have studied every part of it and I am ready to move on, He brings me back to it. I don't know what He's trying to say to me. I hope what I shared with Merge was a help to someone.
Sunday night I Just talked about how that Paul was very passionate about his faith in Christ, no matter what circumstance he was in, no matter who was around, he was going to let you know he was a Christ-follower. He never was intimidated by the numbers, all he seen was the lostness of the people. I wish we were more like Paul. I wish the church was more like Paul. I wish I was more like Paul. When it comes down to it, I am the church and I can only change my desire to do it. It starts with me.
I just hope that people would come to realize that God's word is alive! It is not like some Zombie, you know, alive but dead.
God's word is different, it is real, and it is the heartbeat of God!!!!! I Only hope and pray that the students are getting it. Do they get it? Do they really feel the very breath of God when they read His word? Am I doing all I can do to make it real for them?
If you are ever in Centreville you must stop at the "Twixt and Tween"(have no idea how they go the name) they make a mean cheeseburger. They also have some CD's there of the King James version of the Bible brought to you by a dog named, I think it was, Rusty. No, I'm not kidding.
